Personal Camp Meeting Message

“Inspiring Faith”. Can it be that this is not just another nice sounding camp meeting theme? Can it be that this is in fact a precise diagnosis of what you and I need today? Especially in light of the drastic changes that we have experienced in the recent past. If you are honest about our lived reality as human beings, then you must admit that it has become very difficult to maintain an unwavering faith in the face of tragedy, sorrow, loss and confusion. Yes, I have also asked the questions that you are asking. I have also discovered that there are more questions than answers at the end of the day.

However, having reflected on the camp meeting theme, I have concluded the following; If I read it subjectively it means that I have a need for my faith to be “upgraded”. I know that you need it too. If I read it objectively it means that my faith, if “upgraded”, will potentially inspire faith in others. Listen to Ellen White’s perspective on this notion; “All have trials; griefs hard to bear, temptations hard to resist. Do not tell your troubles to your fellow mortals, but carry everything to God in prayer. Make it a rule never to utter one word of doubt or discouragement. You can do much to brighten the life of others and strengthen their efforts, by words of hope and holy cheer.” Steps to Christ p. 119:3.

It is therefore my prayer that you and I will have a camp meeting experience that inspires faith that is inspiring.
